FAQs

I work in the nonprofit sector but don’t know much about AI. Can I still use this toolkit?

Absolutely. This toolkit is made especially for people who are new to AI. We’ve picked tools that are simple, useful, and relevant to your day-to-day work — and included easy tutorials to help you get started, no tech background needed.

How do I know which tools are right for my role?

Just click on your role from the homepage (e.g., Fundraiser, MEL Specialist, Program Manager). You’ll find:
A curated list of tools for your workflow
The top 2-3 recommended tools
Real-life use cases and beginner-friendly tutorials (coming soon)

Are these AI tools free to use?

Many tools in the toolkit are free or freemium (basic features free, advanced paid). We’ve added clear labels so you know what’s free, paid, or requires sign-up — and whenever possible, we’ve prioritized tools with generous free plans.

Is it safe to use these tools for sensitive nonprofit data?

Yes, but with Safety principles applied. We’ve included a short AI Safety & Data Ethics Guide inside the toolkit. In general:
Avoid uploading confidential data to any tool without checking its privacy policy
Prefer tools that let you work locally or anonymize your data
When in doubt, test with dummy data first

Can I contribute tools, feedback, or success stories to the toolkit?

Yes, please! You can share:
Tools you’ve used and recommend
Suggestions for improvement
Stories about how a tool helped your team
Just visit the page in the menu. We’re building this as a shared resource for the entire nonprofit ecosystem.
